Star RB Melvin Gordon III went down with a knee injury on a trick play in the 3rd Quarter of Sunday’s game. He was receiving a pitch from fellow RB Austin Ekeler when Arizona Cardinals defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche was being blocked to the ground and his legs hit MG3 in the knee from the side. Gordon hit the ground and was instantly grimacing in pain. He was helped to the sideline and his knee was tested by team staff. Gordon was immediately visually depressed at whatever the docs told him. A few minutes later he was shown limping to the locker room with a towel completely covering his head. The team didn’t wait for Monday to come around to get further testing done.The news is undoubtably awful, especially with Gordon having a career year and really finding his groove as a RB in this offense. With star DE Joey Bosa back in the lineup, the defense should get a much needed boost and take the pressure off of the offense which will help minimize the loss of Gordon.
