Shea-USA TODAY SportsThe Jacksonville Jaguars are sitting with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft in kind of a no man’s land area. They’re not going to be picking a quarterback and the teams directly behind them don’t appear to be, either. Most of the elite defensive lineman are expected to be snapped up before their pick, so most mocks have them going for a right tackle or a tight end.Trade down options seem few and far between, but if someone like Houston defensive lineman Ed Oliver falls into the Jaguars lap at No. 7, they might have a dance partner in the Atlanta Falcons. The Falcons apparently are looking to trade up for Ed Oliver in the 2019 NFL Draft. The Falcons currently hold the No. 14 overall pick so I’m not sure exactly what kind of compensation you would need to slide down seven spots, but considering what most project the Jaguars to pick seventh overall it could make some sense to take a little less to slide down and end up with the same position/players.Sure Jawaan Taylor and TJ Hockenson might get snapped up before the 14th pick
Barry Church Jerseys 2019 , but you still have good alternatives at those positions that would make sense at No. 14 like Jonah Williams, Andre Dillard, Noah Fant and potentially even someone like Christian Wilkins or Brian Burns as possibilities. Everyone always wants to trade down for more picks, but the Jaguars with David Caldwell as general manager have repeatedly turned down trade offers to get their guy, so it will be interesting if they do so once again. Jersey numbers assigned to 2019 Jacksonville Jaguars free agency class New,2commentsEDTThe Jacksonville Jaguars have revealed jersey numbers for the 2019 free agency class. This includes both players signed after the new league year began in March, as well as players like Thomas Rawls and Alex McGough who signed futures contracts in January. Prior to the NFL Draft
Black A.J. Bouye Jerseys , there are already 10 new faces joining the Jaguars locker room in 2019: quarterbacks Nick Foles and McGough, running backs Alfred Blue, Benny Cunningham and Rawls, wide receiver Chris Conley, linebacker Jake Ryan, offensive tackles Leonard Wester and Cedric Ogbuehi, and tight end Geoff Swaim. There was obviously a heavy (and much-needed) emphasis put on the offensive side of the ball so far this offseason, as the Jaguars are bringing in nine offensive players
A.J. Bouye Jerseys 2019 , as opposed to just one defensive player (Ryan). Ryan adds depth at middle linebacker, and could find himself on the field in base defensive sets. Ryan (47), Swaim (87) and Wester (61) will all be keeping their numbers from their previous teams. However, in Wester’s case, he originally wore No. 66 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but switched to No. 61 in 2018. Meanwhile, Rawls is going back to his original number he wore in Seattle (34) after wearing No. 31 in his short stint with the Cincinnati Bengals. Foles (7), Conley (18)
Black Calais Campbell Jerseys , Blue (23), Cunningham (29), Ogbuehi (75) and McGough (2) are now rocking numbers they have yet to wear in their NFL careers. Most notably, Jags fans are likely already aware that Foles will have a No. 7 on his jersey after wearing No. 9 in Philadelphia, No. 4 in Kansas City and No. 5 in St. Louis. There is a special meaning to the No. 7 for Jacksonville’s new signal-caller, though: Conley, Foles’ former teammate in Kansas City, wore No. 17 for the Chiefs. Blue wore No. 28 with the Houston Texans
Calais Campbell Jerseys 2019 , and while that number is not officially retired by the franchise, Jacksonville is not likely to allow another running back to take it in honor of Fred Taylor. Cunningham has worn numbers 36, 23 and 30 in stops with the St. Louis/Los Angeles Rams and Chicago Bears. He does turn 29-years-old in July, so that could be why he chose that number for 2019. Ogbuehi wore No. 70 during his four years with the Bengals. He was a first-round pick in 2015, and started 25 games for Cincinnati, but mostly flamed out — only appearing in two games in 2018 and was healthy scratch for most of the year. The Bengals declined his fifth-year option and Jacksonville signed him this offseason. He seems to be looking for a fresh start with both a new team and a new number. In McGough’s case, he was a practice squad player for the Seattle Seahawks in 2018 and wore No. 5. The Jaguars will add more players in April’s Draft. Stay tuned!
