Good morning
Authentic Deandre Baker Jersey , New York Giants fans!Your Giants headlines for this Sunday begin pretty much where every day is going to begin until we have a firm decision on what the Giants will do at quarterback. It begins with Eli Manning. If Eli Manning’s New York Giants run is over, he leaves an unforgettable mark | NY PostYes, he does. As I keep reminding everyone, whether moving on from Manning is the right move or not it doesn’t automatically mean a new franchise quarterback will be in place. In took the Giants 11 seasons and lots of swings and misses to get from Phil Simms to Manning. Let’s hope it doesn’t take that long this time around.Meet the 2019 NFL draft quarterback class - Everything you need to know | ESPNYou will read a ton about quarterbacks in the upcoming draft. This is a good place to start. It comes down to this — will the Giants conclude that Dwayne Haskins or Daniel Jones is a franchise quarterback, and will they be willing to pay the price to acquire one of them if they do?How Giants, Eli Manning could come together on money front | New York PostHere’s where Eli Manning could land if he leaves Giants next season | SNYJustin Fields will transfer to Ohio State, making it even more likely Dwayne Haskins declares for 2019 draft | NY Daily NewsBest guess here is that Haskins declares for the draft early this week, and that #GiantsTwitter will then go into a complete frenzy. Now
Deandre Baker Jersey Boys , let’s move on to some of the day’s other headlinesAll the areas Dave Gettleman needs to address to fix Giants | New York PostThere is a lot of work to be done. This doesn’t lay out specific players, just general areas that need to be dealt with.Leonard: Dave Gettleman can talk all he wants about defense as root of Giants' deficiencies, but it's a false narrative - NY Daily NewsDave Gettleman, Giants must fix broken evaluation process ahead of pivotal offseason | nj.comValentine’s View: I’m going to comment on these last two headlines together. There are some in the media who seem to want to criticize Gettleman for anything and everything. Regardless of the reality.Gettleman never said the defense was solely to blame for the Giants’ issues in 2018, as the Daily News would have you believe. The defense is, though, a problem — a major one — and the Giants recognize that. They also know the offensive line needs to be better and that they have a quarterback situation — short- and long-term — to address. As well, the idea that the organization’s evaluation process is “broken” because they made a couple of mistakes is silly. Whatever the evaluation process is it seemed to work pretty well for a talented draft class. The overly generous contracts given to Jonathan Stewart and Patrick Omameh were mistakes. Period. That doesn’t mean a team’s process is broken. It means they made a wrong choice. I prefer to give the Giants credit for admitting their mistakes and quickly moving on from players like Omameh and Ereck Flowers. That is something the previous regime would never do.New York Giants Saquon Barkley Hands Out $100 Bills Outside Nightclub | TMZ.comI don’t know what to make of this one. Deandre Baker Jersey Draft , who has covered the New York Giants for nearly two decades, joined the Valentine’s Views podcast on Friday. He had some really interesting things to say about Odell Beckham Jr., Eli Manning and the direction in which GM Dave Gettleman is taking the franchise. It’s a show you aren’t going to want to miss. Here are a few snippets to whet your appetite. On Odell Beckham ...“Trading a player who’s that talented is not an easy thing, and there’s probably no way to get back equal return, a satisfactory return. He was a huge star 鈥?there’s almost nothing they could get back that’s going to make everybody happy.“When you look at the trade package they got, compare it to other trade packages for top wide receivers, they did great.”On taking the long view of the deal ...“The even-keeled, level-headed evaluation of this is we have to wait to see what happens in the future鈥? What do they get with the first and third pick? That first pick might turn into being the Giants’ next franchise quarternback
Deandre Baker NFL Jersey , it might turn into the next Justin Tuck, the next Chris see or somebody like that. Then you’ll look at it and go ‘wow,’ they got a great player with that pick. ...“We’re a few years away really from knowing how well he [Gettleman] did but those picks certainly can’t hurt.”On Eli Manning, and all the players the Giants have jettisoned ...“I’m sorry for all the people out there who want to blame it all on Eli Manning, it’s not his fault. The defense has stunk, the line has stunk, you can go up and down the roster and see people that under-performed and Dave Gettleman just decided these contracts are ridiculous for a team that’s playing this poorly. We’re going to get rid of all of them and we’re going to start over my way.”On Manning’s return for 2019 ...“The biggest reason he is coming back is they don’t have a good Plan B. Taking a chance on Teddy Bridgewater’s knee wasn’t going to be a good Plan B. Spending $25 million on a 30-year-old Nick Foles who’s never had a full season, only been good in Philadelphia
Deandre Baker NFL Draft , that wasn’t going to be a good Plan B. Just handing the ball to draft pick on Day 1 in a draft where people are a little bit down on the quarterbacks, that’s wasn’t going to be a good Plan B, either.”There is a lot more, and I don’t want to give it all away.Listen to the full show below.Where to subscribeYou can find and subscribe to Big Blue View radio from the show’s home page. You can find all the shows on our Big Blue View Radio Hub Page. You can also find the shows and subscribe on all your favorite podcast apps:Apple Podcasts | Google Podcasts | Pocket Casts | Spotify | Stitcher | RSSFinally, be sure to check out the home page for all of the shows across the expanding Vox Media Podcast Network.
