A 21-yard pass interference penalty moved them into Lions territory, then a 17-yard pass with Tabor in coverage put Green Bay in field goal position. However, the Lions’ defense stiffened up from there and Mason Crosby missed the short 41-yard kick, keeping the Packers off the scoreboard.On the next drive, the Lions went full attack mode with the ball and Kenny Golladay made one of the best plays we’ve seen from a Lions player this season. The Detroit Lions are no exception, and have reportedly made at least two waiver claims on Sunday.According to Dave Birkett, the Lions have claimed offensive tackle Andrew Donnal and defensive back Dee Virgin.Donnal comes after the Ravens cut him on Saturday. He was originally a fourth-round pick from the Rams, but was waived by the team late in 2017. In Los Angeles/St. Louis, Donnal started six games and made 27 total game appearances at guard but primarily tackle. The Lions have a need for more offensive line depth after trading Corey Robinson. This could be bad news for Brian Mihalik, who initially made the 53-man roster, but may be expendable with Donnal’s addition.As for Virgin, he spent 2017 on the Texans’ practice squad, and again failed to make Houston’s 53-man roster this year. The 24-year-old out of West Alabama was a shutdown cornerback in college.Cornerback is a position the Lions don’t have a lot of depth at. Currently, Detroit just has three outside corners in Darius Slay, Nevin Lawson and Teez Tabor. Virgin will enter that competition.
