the Seattle Seahawks’ Sunday Night Football matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs. I’ll start with the bad news that right tackle Germain Ifedi and RB Rashaad Penny are both out due to their respective injuries. Seattle also made Bo Scarbrough inactive
Germain Ifedi Color Rush Jersey , so Chris Carson, Mike Davis, and JD McKissic are the only available running backs on the depth chart for this game. As for Ifedi, his replacement will be George Fant, making his first start at RT after getting several starts at left tackle in 2016.For the good news? Right guard DJ Fluker is back from his hamstring injury, while safety Bradley McDougald is good to go after being a question mark with a knee injury. The likes of Shaquill Griffin and Jarran Reed are set to play, too! Of note for the Chiefs is that they’ll be without starting safety Ron Parker and starting cornerback Kendall Fuller, so their secondary will be shorthanded. Oft-injured WR Sammy Watkins is out once again, as is former Seahawks RB Spencer Ware. Here are the full inactives for both teams.Seattle SeahawksRB Rashaad Penny RB Bo Scarbrough OL Germain Ifedi DT Nazair Jones DE Braden Jackson CB Kalan Reed S Tedric ThompsonKansas City ChiefsCB Kendall FullerS Ron Parker WR Sammy Watkins RB Spencer Ware TE Deon Yelder OL Kahlil Mckenzie OL Jimmy Murray In the wake of the release of Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin last week

The OffseasonCap ClassroomDon’t expect an official retirement statement from Doug Baldwin anytime soonNew,6commentsPDTIn the wake of the release of Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin last week, and his unofficial retirement thread posted on social media Sunday, some fans have wondered why he hasn’t simply made an official retirement announcement. The answer to that is very simple, in that it comes down to the requirements of the collective bargaining agreement to collect the injury protection payments to which he may be entitled following his release with an injury designation. Specifically, just like the situation evolved with Kam Chancellor following his neck injury during the 2017 season, had he officially retired he would have forfeited the portions of his 2018 and 2019 base salaries which were covered by injury protections. The same goes for Baldwin, whose injury protection payments will be calculated based on a percentage of his 2019 and 2020 base salaries

If he retires, then his claim to injury protection payments because under Article 45 he must continue to rehab his injuries in order to recover from the myriad of surgeries he had this offseason. So, in short, just as there was no official retirement announcement from Cliff Avril or Kam Chancellor, do not expect one from Doug Baldwin anytime soon. Making such an announcement will do nothing more than eliminate his ability to earn up to $1.775M over the next two years, and thus it seems that making such an announcement would not be the wisest choice.
