Last year’s roster was full of aged veterans, but the team has done a full 180 this season and, except for a few spots, gone really young. The Raiders list four rookies as starters on the depth chart, including Hunter Renfrow who is listed as the starting slot receiver. The other three rookie starters are Clelin Ferrell at DE, Josh Jacobs at RB and Johnathan Abram at free safety alongside Lamarcus Joyner, who will generally act as the slot corner in nickel and dime packages. All four of these rookies have distinguished themselves during OTAs and training camp and they deserve their spots. There’s another rookie listed as a starter, the undrafted Alec Ingold at fullback, but he’s ahead of the injured Keith Smith until Smith returns, so it remains to be seen whether Ingold keeps that spot. Richie Incognito is listed as the starter at left guard but he’ll be suspended for two games to begin the season and will likely give way to Jonathan Cooper until the Vikings game in Week 3. Also, Johnny Townsend is listed as the starting punter, but his battle with AJ Cole will probably go until cutdown day and the Raiders won’t keep them both. We’ll get a first look at the new Raiders in game action as the team opens their preseason schedule Saturday against the Rams, and also we’ll see the team in camp as Hard Knocks airs its first episode tomorrow night.Silver Mining 10/7: Raiders teammates rave about impact Marshawn Lynch is having despite age Raiders NewsRaiders’ teammates marvel over power, will of Marshawn Lynch – Las Vegas Review-JournalWhatever step Marshawn Lynch might have lost at age 32 is largely indiscernible because of the swagger he retained.
