Upon arriving, he found out that he’d be answering questions about his number in addition to his father.“I went to the equipment room to get measured for my helmet, I looked down at the sheet, saw ’13’ and was like, that’s Odell’s number,” White said, via Art Stapleton of NorthJersey.com. “I knew I was going to get that, too

It didn’t matter what number they gave me, if they wanted me to wear double zero, I’d wear double zero, I’m just blessed to be here. All credit goes to Odell, he’s a hell of a player, I’m just happy to be with the Giants and have a jersey.”White added that he’s “just worried about playing my game and not worrying about trying to be anybody else,” and it seems unlikely that anyone’s expecting him to do what Beckham did for the Giants. No one with the team would mind if he could follow in the footsteps of former Monmouth wideouts Miles Austin and Chris Hogan to carve out a pro career, though. After extensive testing, including an MRI, rookie cornerback DeAndre Baker has been diagnosed with a sprained left knee.Baker had his practice cut short on Sunday after injuring his left knee during warm-ups and going inside for testing. While the Giants hoped it was just a sprain, the fear was that one of their starting corners had torn an ACL. Fortunately, the tests put that fear to rest and confirmed that the ACL is intact. Baker is currently listed by the Giants as “day to day,” with the hope that he will be back on the field sooner rather than later. “It’s a big relief, certainly,” coach Pat Shurmur said after Monday’s practice. “He’s been coming along real well. To know that it’s not serious at this point is good.”Unfortunately, the Giants did suffer another injury to a wide receiver in practice on Monday. Wide receiver Amba Etta-Tawo had to be carted off the field after injuring his left leg while making a catch. Etta-Tawo, signed following the rash of injuries the Giants suffered at the wide receiver position early in camp, was diagnosed with a torn Achilles tendon.
