Earlier this week, Cream, the development team behind the Pokemon-esque MMO Temtem, released the first part of Temtem’s content roadmap. The team went to their blog to post about how the game will be getting 50 new Temtem and two brand-new islands before the end of the year. There are also some new features coming such as ranked matchmaking, player housing, in-game chat, and more emotes. Today, Crema released the mid-term and complete roadmap for Temtem and a bunch of exciting new stuff is in the works.
Spring 2021 sees the game transitioning from early access to full launch. The developers are also planning to launch the game on consoles in time with the game’s official launch, hopefully with cross-play and cross-save support. “Cross-play is technically simple to achieve,” says Crema. “The main problem with cross-play is related to console holders restrictions but they seem very open about it lately so we’re hoping we will be able to achieve cross-play on every platform we launch.” In addition,

The Trading House is also going to be a big feature to arrive this Winter. Trading Houses are actually in the game right now, but they're inaccessible and have "WIP" signs hanging out front. Once activated, they'll serve as trading hotspots where players can go to post and accept offers from other players for trading Temtem. It will operate much like Pokémon's Global Trading System, so those familiar with Pokémon will find a lot in common.
“Cross-save is more technically challenging,” adds the devs. “Apart from having the same legal and restrictions hoops, there’s also a technical issue that needs to be sorted and solved which is a way of joining all your different accounts into the same one. We’re pretty confident about it but we still need to figure out some more things and talk with the different platform holders to get their OK.”
Obviously, everything in the roadmap is still somewhat up in the air. Crema wants to add it all, but Temtem is still in very active development. Hopefully, they can make it all work because all the stuff they’re talking about seems both incredibly smart and super fun.
